VIV Africa returns to Kigali on October 7 and 8, bringing international suppliers, producers, investors and policymakers together around animal protein and the wider feed-to-food value chain.

The fifth edition takes place at the Kigali Convention Centre and is preceded by a full-day Leadership Conference on October 6 for senior industry decision-makers.

The exhibition covers feed ingredients, animal nutrition, poultry, dairy, breeding, hatchery technology, animal health, farm equipment, processing, logistics and food engineering.

Organisers are also running an Investment and Market Access Forum on October 7, including meetings between agribusinesses, investors, financial institutions, technology providers and government representatives.

The previous edition attracted 150 exhibitors, 1,732 professional visitors and participants from 60 countries, giving the Kigali show a regional role that extends beyond Rwanda.

For producers, the commercial value of the event is less about exhibition traffic alone and more about comparing equipment, feed, genetics and animal-health solutions against the operating constraints of African markets.

For suppliers, Sub-Saharan Africa represents a market where rising demand for animal protein is creating opportunities but where financing, disease control, feed cost and distribution remain significant barriers.

VIV Africa therefore functions as both an equipment and input marketplace and a meeting point for investment, market access and production strategy across the region's livestock and food industries.
