Trade Expo Indonesia is heading toward its October opening with buyers from 113 countries already registered, giving the annual event a broad international sourcing base.

Indonesia's Ministry of Trade said 1,533 domestic businesses had registered as exhibitors by September 25, including micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

The 41st edition of the show runs from October 14 to 18 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition complex in BSD City, Tangerang, Banten.

The event is designed to connect Indonesian producers with overseas buyers across multiple sectors, including food, agricultural products, consumer goods and manufactured products.

For agrifood exporters, a trade show of this scale can function as a concentrated market-access channel, especially for smaller companies that do not maintain permanent international sales offices.

The diversity of registered buyer countries also matters because Indonesia is seeking to broaden export destinations rather than depend too heavily on a small number of large markets.

Registration figures do not guarantee completed transactions, and the commercial value of the event will ultimately depend on buyer meetings, contracts and follow-up orders.

Still, the current participation numbers make TEI one of the larger near-term sourcing events in Southeast Asia and a useful indicator of international interest in Indonesian products before the doors open.
