Kerry Opens Pennsylvania Coffee Extraction Plant With Capacity Equal to 1 Billion Cups a Year

Kerry has opened a 48,600 square foot coffee extraction facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, giving the taste and nutrition group capacity equivalent to approximately one billion cups of coffee a year.
The site is Kerry's first manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania and includes coffee roasting, independent hot and cold extraction lines, concentration, blending and packaging capabilities.
Kerry says the plant is designed to produce natural coffee ingredients for ready to drink beverages, cafés and foodservice, alcoholic drinks, ice cream and savoury applications.
The facility can produce high concentration coffee at 23 to 30 Brix, allowing more product to be shipped with less water than lower concentration or refrigerated alternatives.
Kerry says its Direct Concentrated Fresh system can reduce carbon emissions by 61 percent compared with the reference configuration it uses, while other formats at the plant also reduce emissions relative to conventional and refrigerated products.
The opening comes as the company points to record U.S. specialty coffee consumption, with consumers continuing to trade into premium formats even as coffee prices remain elevated.
The Bethlehem operation was acquired in 2025 and has now moved into its expanded manufacturing role, bringing extraction capacity closer to customers on the U.S. East Coast.
For beverage brands, the facility adds another industrial scale source of concentrated coffee ingredients at a time when ready to drink, cold coffee and premium café style products are taking a larger share of consumption.
