Micronutrient Forum 2026 Sets Three Track Agenda for Accra

Updated: Oct 7
The Micronutrient Forum's seventh Global Conference is scheduled to bring the international nutrition community to Accra, Ghana, from September 28 through October 1, 2026. The hybrid event will be held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City and will also provide online participation, extending the program beyond delegates able to travel.
The conference theme, Nutrition at the Frontiers of a Changing Environment, places micronutrient policy inside a wider operating environment shaped by climate change, funding pressure, conflict and displacement. That framing moves the agenda beyond clinical nutrition and toward the financing, agriculture and public systems needed to deliver interventions at scale.
The scientific and policy program is organized around three broad tracks. The first covers micronutrient biology, data and the efficacy of interventions, the second examines program implementation and effectiveness, and the third focuses on the enabling environment required for countries to sustain nutrition progress.
Track C gives the event particular relevance for agriculture and food businesses. Its sessions address policy coherence, market and fiscal tools for healthier diets, large scale food fortification, nutrition financing, accountability and the integration of nutrition objectives into agriculture, climate, health and social protection investment.
Scheduled contributors span research, government, development finance and civil society. The enabling environment track includes participants linked to the World Bank Group, African Union Commission, African Development Bank, International Food Policy Research Institute, Global Financing Facility and several nutrition advocacy organizations.
The program also explicitly asks how emerging science, technology, advanced data and new partnership models can improve nutrition outcomes. That creates a meeting point for researchers, fortification specialists, ingredient suppliers, food manufacturers, public agencies and funders, although participation itself does not imply endorsement of any commercial product.
Accra's role matters because the organizers say the conference will amplify leadership from Africa and other low and middle income countries. The official language is English, the event runs on Ghana Standard Time, and registered participants need conference badges for educational sessions, meal functions and exhibition areas.
The useful test for MNF 2026 will be what survives after the sessions close. Concrete commitments on financing, data standards, fortification delivery and country implementation would give the conference lasting industry value, while the published program provides a clear framework for tracking which proposals move from discussion into practice.
