Keurig Dr Pepper has named Russ Torres chief executive of the future Global Coffee Co., putting a veteran consumer goods executive in charge of integrating KDP's coffee operations with JDE Peet's before a planned separation in early 2027.

Torres will join KDP on November 3 and initially serve as chief executive of the company's Coffee Operating Unit, where he will oversee integration work ahead of the planned standalone company.

Upon separation, KDP says Global Coffee Co. is expected to generate approximately US$16 billion in annual revenue, employ more than 25,000 people and serve consumers in more than 100 markets.

The portfolio will include Keurig, Jacobs, Peet's, L'OR and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters alongside regional brands, spanning single serve systems, roast and ground coffee, whole bean, soluble, ready to drink and away from home formats.

Torres joins from Kimberly Clark, where he is president and chief operating officer with responsibility for operations in more than 30 countries. His earlier roles include senior positions at Newell Brands, Bain and Mondelēz.

The appointment gives the future coffee business a named chief executive while KDP continues work on the JDE Peet's integration, debt reduction and separation process.

KDP chief executive Tim Cofer is expected to become chief executive of the separate Beverage Co. after the split, while Torres is also due to join the Global Coffee Co. board.

The separation remains a planned transaction rather than a completed one. Its timing and final structure are still subject to execution, but the leadership appointment gives the future global coffee business a clearer operating structure months before the targeted launch.
