JennAir and Dekton Turn Refrigerator Doors Into Matching Stone Surfaces

Updated: 7 days ago
JennAir and Cosentino have opened orders for a made-to-order collection of 4 millimeter Dekton panels designed to cover selected JennAir refrigeration products. The system extends the same engineered surface used on counters and walls across refrigerator fronts, turning the appliance into part of a continuous kitchen finish.
The launch covers selected JennAir refrigeration columns, wine columns and undercounter units. Five Dekton finishes are available at introduction: Albarium, Grafite, Laurent, Rem and Trance. Each finish creates a different stone or mineral effect, ranging from pale matte white to dark brown with gold veining.
This is not a universal adhesive skin or a standard accessory for every refrigerator. The panels are engineered around the weight tolerances, handle drilling requirements and hanging hardware of compatible JennAir models. Buyers therefore need to confirm the appliance and panel specification together before ordering.
Cosentino says the 4 millimeter format allows the surface to be mounted on appliance hinges without sacrificing the performance expected from its ultracompact material. The company also describes the panels as highly resistant to stains, scratches and heat, although the launch announcement does not publish independent comparative test results.
The commercial value is in coordination. Designers can specify cabinetry, worktops, backsplashes and refrigeration fronts as one visual system instead of treating the refrigerator as a separate stainless steel object. That can be particularly useful in open-plan rooms where the kitchen is visible from living areas.
Customization also adds complexity. GI Stone, a Chicago-based fabricator and installer, will prepare each panel for the design and appliance configuration in the order. JennAir and Cosentino estimate a 12 to 14 week lead time after order confirmation, subject to component availability.
Panels for column and wine refrigeration are available to order now through JennAir's custom-panel channel and participating luxury appliance dealers. The undercounter option is scheduled for later in 2026, so buyers planning a fully matched installation may need to phase the project or wait for that format.
Neither company disclosed a standard retail price in the launch material. The practical comparison is therefore not simply panel versus paint or stainless steel: a buyer must account for the compatible appliance, made-to-order surface, fabrication, drilling, installation and the consequences of replacing a damaged or discontinued finish later.
