Fieldmarshal Launches TREM V 15 HP and 18 HP Engines for Compact Tractors

Updated: Oct 7
Fieldmarshal P.M. Diesels has launched new single-cylinder diesel engines in the 15 HP and 18 HP classes that it says are India's first to comply with the latest ARAI TREM V emission requirements in this format.
The engines are designed for compact tractors and agricultural machinery and use an internally developed exhaust gas recirculation system to reduce emissions.
Fieldmarshal says it has filed multiple Indian patent applications related to the new TREM V engine technology.
The launch supports the company's Shridev compact tractor range, which currently includes 12 HP, 15 HP and 18 HP models.
Fieldmarshal estimates that tractors below 20 HP account for roughly three percent of India's overall tractor market, representing annual sales of about 40,000 to 45,000 units.
The company is targeting a 10 to 15 percent share of that below-20 HP segment within three years and plans to introduce tractors up to 30 HP in the near term.
Its longer term product roadmap extends to tractors up to 100 HP and Euro V-compatible engines for export markets. Fieldmarshal says its products already reach more than 60 countries.
The new engines add another option to a compact mechanisation market where tighter emissions rules increasingly have to be balanced against cost, durability, serviceability and fuel efficiency.
