Caraway 10 Cup Coffee Maker: What the $495 Plastic Free Brewer Offers

Updated: Oct 7
Caraway has moved beyond cookware with a 10 Cup Coffee Maker priced at $495 in the United States. It is the company's first powered appliance and is positioned as a premium drip brewer for buyers who care as much about the materials in the water path as they do about countertop design. Caraway's product page showed an estimated October 30 ship date when checked on September 25.
The defining feature is what Caraway calls its Clean Brew System. Water starts in a glass reservoir, moves through stainless steel tubing and a stainless steel shower head, reaches the grounds in a stainless steel brew basket and finishes in a glass carafe. The manufacturer says this arrangement keeps plastic from contacting the water or finished coffee.
Caraway specifies a brewing temperature of 195 to 205 degrees Fahrenheit, the range commonly associated with proper drip extraction. The machine uses a controlled bloom to wet the grounds before the main brew and a shower head intended to distribute water across the coffee bed. Capacity runs up to 10 cups, making it more suitable for households and small teams than a single serve machine.
Controls are intentionally limited. A single dial handles brewing and cleaning, while a built in cleaning and descaling cycle manages routine maintenance. The package includes a reusable stainless steel filter, and a warming plate holds the glass carafe at serving temperature for up to 90 minutes.
The materials and simple interface define the buyer fit. This is not a low cost office brewer, and it does not compete by adding a large touchscreen or dozens of beverage presets. It is aimed at customers who prefer a conventional pot of drip coffee, want a visible glass reservoir and are prepared to pay a premium for the glass and steel brew path.
There are meaningful tradeoffs. At $495, the machine costs more than many established specialty drip brewers. A warming plate and glass carafe also serve a different use case from a thermal carafe, while the minimalist controls may feel restrictive to buyers who want programmable schedules, multiple strength settings or connected features.
Caraway says the brewer is engineered around Golden Cup temperature and brew time parameters, but that wording should not be confused with an independent Agrilinkage performance test. This guide is based on the manufacturer's published specifications and current product information, not hands on use. Buyers who prioritize taste testing should compare independent reviews as they become available.
