Yoleau Recalls Alcohol Free Spritz Cans in France Over Seal Defect

Yoleau has recalled two 25 centilitre alcohol free spritz products in France because a packaging defect may cause the cans to lose their seal and compromise microbiological quality.

The recall covers the elderflower spritz with GTIN 3770026344385, lot 3121826, and the bitter orange spritz with GTIN 3770026344392, lot 3221826. Both carry a best before date of April 28, 2027.

The products were marketed from May 21 through September 18. Distribution included Carrefour for the orange product, Potager City for the elderflower product, and independent retailers.

France's official recall notice says consumers should not drink the affected cans and should return or destroy them. Reimbursement is offered.

This action is based on packaging integrity rather than a detected pathogen. A micro leak or sealing failure can undermine the conditions needed to maintain product quality.

The incident highlights the food safety role of packaging in ready to drink beverages, where container performance is part of the product's microbiological control system.
