Mezzetta Recalls One Lot of 32 Oz Greek Peppers After Pest Report

G. L. Mezzetta Inc. has announced a limited voluntary recall of one lot of Mezzetta Greek Peppers after a consumer reported finding a pest contaminant in a jar. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration posted the company announcement on September 25, 2026, two days after the company announcement date.

The recall is narrowly defined. It covers Mezzetta Greek Peppers in the 32 ounce size, SKU 10106328, lot 720106. Mezzetta said no other products or lots are included based on the information currently available.

Mezzetta said it became aware of the issue through a video circulating on social media. The company said it contacted the consumer, arranged to retrieve and examine the product involved, and began reviewing production, sanitation and food safety records.

The company reported no illnesses or injuries at the time of the announcement. That distinction matters because the recall is a precautionary response to a reported foreign contaminant, not a report of an identified outbreak.

Mezzetta said its production and distribution records allowed it to identify customers that received jars from the affected lot. The company is working with those customers to isolate and remove the product from sale.

Consumers should check both the jar size and lot number rather than assuming every jar of the brand is affected. Anyone with a 32 ounce jar from lot 720106 should not consume it and should contact Mezzetta at CustomerSupport@Mezzetta.com for assistance.
