Mars officially inaugurated its first Pringles manufacturing facility in Thailand on September 18, 2026, while also marking the start of the plant’s second production line. The company says it has invested more than THB 7 billion in the site. Operations began in late 2025, so the ceremony represents the formal opening and a capacity expansion rather than the first day of production.

The factory is in Chonburi, inside Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor. Mars gives the facility area as 73,800 square metres within a total site of 208,000 square metres, leaving room for additional development as the regional business grows.

The plant already supplies Pringles to India, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Mars says it is intended to serve markets across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, positioning Thailand as an export base for a broad group of snack markets rather than only domestic demand.

More than 170 direct jobs were created during the start up phase. Mars also says close to half of the plant’s procurement spending goes to local suppliers, extending part of the investment into Thailand’s manufacturing and service network.

Mars describes the site as a fully digitalised smart factory. Production dashboards provide live monitoring, while equipment performance tracking and data analysis are used to manage uptime, productivity and operating efficiency.

The second line became operational in September 2026. A third production line is planned for the end of 2027, which indicates that Mars expects the Chonburi complex to carry a larger share of future Pringles growth across its regional network.

The company says women hold about half of leadership positions at the site and that the wider workforce is approaching gender balance. It also lists energy efficient equipment, wastewater treatment, recycling and resource recovery among the operating measures built into the facility.

For the food processing sector, the key point is the scale and export role of the project. Mars is adding snack capacity close to growing Asian markets while building local sourcing and future expansion into the same site, a model that can reduce supply distances and improve response to regional demand.
