BinSentry has filed six international patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty covering technology used in its AI-powered animal feed inventory monitoring systems.

The applications were filed on August 28 and extend the company's effort to protect technology that measures feed levels and turns bin data into inventory and replenishment decisions.

The filings cover several parts of the sensing stack, including multi-bin management, three-dimensional height mapping, radial-basis mapping and direct time-of-flight measurement.

Other applications cover combinations of RGB and time-of-flight cameras and a self-cleaning sensor housing designed to keep monitoring hardware working in dusty agricultural environments.

Feed inventory is a practical automation problem because livestock operations can lose efficiency when deliveries arrive too early, bins run unexpectedly low or manual measurements are inaccurate.

BinSentry describes the global animal-feed supply chain as a roughly US$500 billion market, although that figure is the company's own estimate rather than an independent valuation.

The international filings do not mean patents have already been granted in every jurisdiction. PCT applications preserve a route toward seeking protection in multiple countries through later national-stage filings.

For feed mills, integrators and livestock operators, the broader development is the shift from periodic manual bin checks toward continuous sensing, software forecasting and automated replenishment across distributed farm networks.
