Argentina Agroindustrial Exports Hit Record 84.26 Million Tonnes Through August
Argentina's agroindustrial exports reached a record 84.26 million tonnes between January and August 2026, according to the country's Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, extending a year of unusually strong outbound agricultural trade.
The same eight month period generated $37.525 billion in export value. Compared with January to August 2025, export volume increased 10 percent and export value rose 13 percent.
The record was broad rather than concentrated in a single commodity. Argentina's government said 126 products achieved their highest export values of the decade during the period.
Beef and sunflower products were among the largest contributors. Frozen boneless beef exports reached $1.889 billion, up 40 percent year on year, while sunflower oil exports climbed 55 percent to $1.842 billion.
Fresh or chilled boneless beef exports rose 36 percent to $1.051 billion. Frozen crustaceans reached $756 million, up 77 percent, while sunflower seed exports rose 869 percent to $623 million.
Argentina also recorded higher export values for honey, lemons, tobacco and mozzarella, while a range of smaller products including oregano, roasted coffee, coriander seed, kiwi and jojoba oil also reached decade highs.
The destination mix shows the breadth of Argentina's agricultural trade network. The leading markets included India, China, Vietnam, Brazil, the United States, Chile, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Malaysia, with shipments reaching 135 markets overall.
Several smaller destination markets grew particularly quickly. Sales to Bulgaria increased 2,990 percent, driven by sunflower products, while exports to Romania rose 424 percent and shipments to Mozambique increased 388 percent, largely on soybean oil. For commodity traders, the data point to a year in which Argentina's export growth is being carried by both core agricultural commodities and faster expansion into a wider set of destinations.
