Zoomlion Delivers 700 Horsepower DX7004 Hybrid Tractor to First Customer

Zoomlion has completed the first customer delivery of its DX7004 hybrid wheeled tractor, moving the 700 horsepower machine from product introduction into commercial deployment.

The handover took place at the 2026 Heilongjiang International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition in northeast China. Zoomlion is positioning the DX7004 for intensive large scale farming operations that require high drawbar power and long operating periods.

Hybrid power at very high horsepower

The tractor uses a dual motor hybrid architecture with a rated output of 700 horsepower and a claimed peak output of as much as 1,200 horsepower. Zoomlion says the core power architecture, components and control systems were developed in house.

The commercial significance is less about headline horsepower alone than whether hybrid power can deliver useful fuel efficiency, control and uptime at the scale required for heavy tillage and other demanding field work. Ultra high horsepower tractors operate in a segment where reliability and total operating cost can matter as much as maximum output.

The first delivery gives growers and machinery buyers a concrete deployment to watch as manufacturers explore electrification and hybrid systems beyond smaller tractors. Performance under sustained field loads, service requirements and operating economics will determine whether the architecture can compete broadly with conventional high horsepower platforms.
