FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. When is ProWein 2026 and what are the opening hours?

ProWein 2026 takes place from Sunday March 15 to Tuesday March 17, 2026 at Messe Düsseldorf, with doors open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The event is purely trade-only, there are no public or consumer days, and all three days follow identical trade hours. In previous years exhibitors have reported the first morning (March 15 opening) as the highest-quality time for buyer conversations, before afternoon crowds build. Registration as a trade visitor is required in advance and can be completed on the official ProWein website at prowein.com. Plan for long days: the fairground covers Halls 1 through 7.0, and walking all sections takes a full day without any scheduled meetings.

2. How much does a ticket to ProWein cost, and where do I buy one?

For the 2026 edition, a day ticket costs €50 when purchased online in advance and €60 at the door on-site. A three-day season ticket costs €80 online or €90 on-site. These are confirmed 2026 prices from the official Facts & Figures page at prowein.com. Tickets must be purchased with professional trade credentials, ProWein enforces a strict trade-only admission policy, and random checks are carried out at entry. To purchase, visit prowein.com/en/Visit and complete the online visitor registration before arriving. A valid trade credential or business registration may be required during the process.

3. What are the best days to visit for professional networking, and how do I avoid the worst crowds?

Sunday March 15 (opening day) is generally the most productive for meeting exhibitors, attendance builds across the day but the first two hours after opening are notably quieter and exhibitors are fresh. Monday March 16 tends to be the busiest single day of the fair, with peak traffic between 11 AM and 3 PM as the full international visitor contingent arrives. Tuesday March 17 (final day) sees a second spike in morning activity as visitors complete their schedules, then a gradual quietening from around 3 PM as exhibitors begin closing their stands. For B2B meetings, using ProWein's Fair Match matchmaking tool to book appointments from all three days in advance is strongly recommended, walk-up conversations become harder to sustain as floor density increases mid-fair.

4. How do I get from Düsseldorf Airport to Messe Düsseldorf?

Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) is just 3 km from the fairground, among the most convenient airport-to-fairground distances in Europe. The fastest option is a taxi or private transfer with an official flat rate of €25 each way (day and night), confirm the rate before boarding. During ProWein, Rheinbahn operates a dedicated express bus (Bus 896) directly from the airport terminals to Messe Düsseldorf in approximately 10–17 minutes; a single ticket costs around €4. For visitors staying in the city centre, take U-Bahn lines U78 or U79 from Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, exit at Merkur Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord, approximately 15 minutes from the city centre. All transit options run from early morning, well ahead of the 9 AM opening.

5. Is ProWein conducted in German, or do I need German language skills?

ProWein is a fully international trade fair and English is widely used across the exhibition floor, at the ProWein Agora speaker programme, and in all official communications from Messe Düsseldorf. Exhibitors representing non-German-speaking regions, including major contingents from France, Italy, Spain, South America, and Asia,  all conduct business in English as a common language. German remains the dominant language in on-site signage, and many German-speaking buyers will begin conversations in German, so basic courtesy phrases are appreciated but never required. For exhibitors, consider providing printed materials in both English and German; for visitors, the ProWein app (iOS and Android) is available in English and provides full exhibitor search and navigation.

6. How do I register as an exhibitor at ProWein 2026?

Online exhibitor registration opened in June 2025 via prowein.com/en/Exhibit/Trade_Fair_Participation/Online_Registration. Hall planning began July 31, 2025, if you have not already applied, contact the exhibitor team directly at Messe Düsseldorf to check stand availability for 2026, as popular halls (particularly ProSpirits in Halls 5 and 7.0) fill ahead of the planning deadline. The application process requires an exhibitor account on the Messe Düsseldorf portal, completed in five steps. Registration is legally binding upon completion, with a cancellation fee applicable thereafter in line with the Special Conditions of Participation. For questions, the ProWein exhibitor service team can be reached via prowein.com.
